There’s something so iconic about a South Congress Hotel wedding, from the modern architecture to its prime spot right on South Congress Avenue. Michael and Kya’s day was stylish, emotional, and fun, basically everything I love about this venue.
Getting Ready at South Congress Hotel
First thing we photographed? The details. Bright, fun, and full of personality. Exactly their style.

Kya got ready in one of the bright, airy hotel suites with her closest girls, champagne flowing and matching floral pajamas setting the tone for the day. If you’ve ever wondered why photographers love shooting here, this is it. The natural light in these rooms is unreal and creates the dreamiest, editorial bridal portraits.

Before heading downstairs, we snuck into the hallway for a few movement-filled shots that felt modern and fashion-forward. Effortless. Cool. So Kya.

An Emotional First Look by the Pool
One of the most heartfelt moments of the entire day happened by the pool, where Kya shared a private first look with her dad. When he turned around and saw her in her dress, the tears came instantly. It was quiet, emotional, and beautifully intimate — a moment just for them in the middle of a busy wedding day. Before the ceremony, we took a moment to capture all the colorful details that made their day feel so personal.

Outdoor Ceremony at South Congress Hotel
Michael & Kya exchanged vows during an outdoor ceremony in the hotel courtyard. The space is clean, modern, and minimal — letting the focus stay exactly where it should: on the couple. Their ceremony was filled with laughter, sweet glances, and that undeniable “we just know” energy.

After the ceremony, we stepped away for a few portraits while the light was still soft and everyone was riding that just married high.

Dancing + Nighttime Portraits on South Congress Avenue
The reception dance floor was full from the start, pure chaos in the best way. After the formalities, we snuck away for a few minutes and stepped out onto South Congress Avenue for nighttime portraits, and wow… magic. Neon lights, slow shutter movement, elevator kisses, and spontaneous bar stops made it feel like their own little movie before heading right back to the party.

Ending the Night in Their Suite
Instead of a big exit, Michael & Kya wrapped up the night back in their suite with champagne in hand, shoes still on, laughing like they just pulled off the best day ever (because they did).
They climbed into the bathtub together, stealing kisses and soaking it all in. Then they sprawled across the bed, finally able to relax as husband and wife. These are the moments couples always tell me they treasure most.
