Noah reached out to me from Seattle a couple of months before his trip to Austin. He wanted help planning a surprise Austin proposal at Commodore Perry Estate for Haley. Something thoughtful, relaxed, and full of character. We went over every detail ahead of time: the location, the light, and how to make the moment feel natural.

The Commodore Perry Estate is one of those places that doesn’t need much to feel special. Its European-inspired architecture, quiet gardens, and soft afternoon light make it feel like a private getaway right in the middle of Austin. On the day of the proposal, everything came together perfectly. The air was calm, the sun was warm, and the property glowed in that golden light that makes you pause for a second.
When Noah got down on one knee, Haley’s reaction said everything. Just after she said yes, a couple of champagne flutes were delivered to celebrate, and we wandered around the property taking photos. Every corner at Commodore Perry offered something beautiful, from the stone archways to the ivy walls catching the light.

After portraits, Haley’s family was nearby at Lutie’s, waiting to surprise them and toast to the newly engaged couple. It was such a sweet ending to a well-planned moment.
I love photographing at Commodore Perry Estate. The light, the textures, and the sense of calm are unmatched. It’s a space that feels elevated but still warm and inviting, and it’s always the perfect backdrop for stories like Noah and Haley’s.

Things to Know if You’re Planning a Proposal at Commodore Perry Estate
The Commodore Perry Estate is undeniably one of Austin’s most beautiful and unique places to propose. Between its European-style architecture, lush gardens, and warm, romantic light, it feels like you’ve stepped into another world even though you’re just minutes from downtown.
Because it’s such an exclusive and sought-after venue, the estate does require a photo fee for proposals and portrait sessions. As of September 2025, that fee ranges from $750 to $2,500, in addition to a one-night stay. Availability can be limited around guest check-ins and private events, so reaching out early is key.

If you’re dreaming of Austin proposal at Commodore Perry Estate, I always recommend confirming availability directly with the venue and planning around the best light. Once you’re booked, I can help you coordinate timing, layout, and any surprise elements to make the moment unforgettable and beautifully documented.
