While most people were popping champagne or sleeping their way into the new year, I was documenting this unforgettable New Year’s Eve wedding at The Mansion in Austin. And honestly, what better way to kick off a new chapter than with a wedding that doubles as the ultimate party?

Vanessa spent the morning getting ready at Hotel Ella, one of Austin’s most iconic boutique hotels. The natural light, classic architecture, and calm energy made it the perfect space for bridal prep. Surrounded by her closest people, she slipped into her timeless Sarah Seven gown and was absolutely glowing.

Curtis and Vanessa are both deeply involved in their community, so I truly do not know how they managed to plan a wedding on top of everything else they do. That is where Veronica from Awe Events ATX came in. Having a wedding planner and coordinator is essential if you want your day to run smoothly. Veronica made sure every detail flowed seamlessly without anyone losing their sanity.

Their First-Look in the Courtyard + Portraits

The Mansion is full of hidden gems, but one of my favorites is the intimate courtyard tucked away from the main space. It was the perfect setting for Curtis and Vanessa’s first look. Curtis’s reaction did not disappoint. Pure emotion, big smiles, and one of those moments you wish you could freeze forever.

The ceremony felt dreamy and romantic, but one of my favorite moments of the entire New Year’s Eve wedding reception was the surprise Baile Folklórico performance. I love when couples include meaningful cultural elements in their wedding day. It made the celebration even more personal and unforgettable for their guests.

The countdown to 2020!

And because it was a New Year’s Eve wedding in Austin, the surprises did not stop there. Midnight fireworks lit up the sky, and the couple made their grand exit in a horse drawn carriage. Truly iconic.

Curtis and Vanessa later traveled to Costa Rica for their honeymoon, hiking lava fields and soaking up adventure together. Such a perfect start to married life. Congrats my friends. I cannot wait to see all the incredible things you accomplish together.
