May 30, 2026
The LINE Austin wedding I photographed for Hilary and Rich in May started with a Bumble match. Hilary swiped right in March 2024 and opened with a podcast recommendation she knew he wouldn’t be able to resist. They found out they both cared about cybersecurity and public service. Then, only two months in, Rich had to move to Georgia for Army officer training.
This is the part of their story I love telling. Rich knew his only real shot at being stationed in Texas was to do well in training. The top of the class gets first pick of assignments. He finished number one and was given the only Texas spot on the list, San Antonio. Meanwhile, Hilary flew to Georgia one weekend a month. Once he was in San Antonio and she was still in Austin, they kept watching mystery and thriller shows. Some episodes happened at his place and some at hers, so there was always one waiting for the next visit. They tease each other that their love is worth the miles, and they’ve got the travel points to prove it.
Rich proposed at sunrise on the beach on July 11, 2025. Hilary had her head down looking for shells when he said, “What about this one?” Then she turned around and he was down on one knee.

Engagement Photos on South Congress
Hilary grew up in Austin, so for their engagement session she wanted spots that were recognizably Austin. She also wanted places their guests, and someday their kids, could visit too. They picked the I love you so much mural and the Greetings from Austin mural. They also asked for one crosswalk photo on South Congress with the Capitol behind them. Above all, they wanted to smile and laugh through the whole session.
The LINE Austin Wedding Ceremony
Hilary and Rich skipped the first look because they wanted to see each other for the first time at the ceremony, so that’s when it happened, as Hilary walked down the aisle.

The LINE Austin Wedding with Mexican and Indo Guyanese Music
On our very first call, Hilary and Rich told me their wedding would bring together two cultures, her Mexican family and his Indo Guyanese family. They wanted both to show up equally in their photos. For their wedding, that looked like Mariachi Cielo Azul and the Texas New Generation Tassa Group both playing the same party.
The LINE sits on Cesar Chavez right across from Lady Bird Lake. When I asked what they loved about the venue, Hilary said the natural light and the view of the trees and Town Lake. That’s how you know she’s an Austin native.

Hilary and Rich, after a year of flights between Austin and Georgia, it was a treat to finally have both of your families in one room.
